Acer 'Rhode Island Red'

Acer palmatum Rhode Island Red is a deciduous shrub with colour-changing leaves throughout the year. It will initially appear as a bright red and get deeper as it ages. Hints of orange will add a bit of brightness to this, then its red stems will be the highlight during Winter. This plant, which can be grown as a small tree, will make a great impact in your garden when it reaches its ultimate height and spread of 2m.

Acers can be cared for with relative ease. Plant in an area of partial shade and aim to avoid long periods of exposure to full sunlight. It can tolerate most soil types, requiring you keep it moist, well-drained and ensure watering is kept to a regular, consistent level.
