Acer 'Princeton Gold'

Create a striking look in your garden with the spectacular Acer Princeton Gold - Golden Maple tree. It features spectacular yellow leaves that make it a great contrast to other darker trees around it. In spring the leaves change to a bright lime green colour and the leaves remain yellow gold in autumn. Don’t expect any major flowering, the tree offers an insignificant flower burst which will appear on the bare branches just before the leaves. Helicopter-like seeds appear later in the year. Acer Princeton Gold is deciduous and will lose its leaves in winter.

Unlike many trees with distinctive yellow leaves, they are fairly resilient to the risk of sun scorching. To be safe and reduce the risk of the leaves scorching, try to plant your Princeton Gold where it will receive protection from the burning afternoon sun.

The Princeton Gold tree grows to a height of 9m, making it a stunning ornamental tree for larger sized gardens. It is extremely disease resistant and is adaptable to a wide variety of soil conditions. However, the ground should not be allowed to dry out completely.

The Princeton Gold is a cultivar of the Acer platanoides and has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. This attractive accent tree can be used to add interest to housing estate walkways, courtyards, golf courses, parks and larger home gardens.
