Acer 'Bloodgood'

Acer palmatum Bloodgood is an attractive deciduous shrub with deeply lobed leaves and attractive vibranty coloured foliage for most of the year. A wonderfully rich purple-red colour shines through during spring, it holds this colour throughout the middle part of the year, lasting well into summer before turning a crimson-like blood red during autumn, hence the name.

This japanese maple prefers to be planted in a partially shaded position, prolonged exposure to full sun could damage the plant so some shelter is preferred. Bloodgood can tolerate most soil types, so long as the planting area is moist, but well-drained. We would like to remind customers that the images are for illustration purposes only.
