Cercis 'Carolina Sweetheart'

Cercis canadensis Carolina Sweetheart is a deciduous, ornamental tree that brings an abundance of colour into your garden. It has an umbrella-like growth habit and is often multi-stemmed. The tree will bloom from Spring into Summer with gorgeous, red-purple buds on bare branches. It will then form heart-shaped, maroon leaves that eventually bear a variegated mix of green and cream colour. This variety is the perfect, eye-catching addition for sunny spots in garden borders or plant displays and will attract butterflies and bees.

More commonly known as Eastern Redbud, this tree prefers to be grown in fertile, well-drained soil. It is best grown in full sunlight, although partial shade is recommended when weather conditions are hotter. You should avoid wet or poorly drained soil and water it regularly to ensure the plant progresses adequately.
