Acer 'Brilliantissimum' is ideal for a smaller garden, growing into a lolly-pop spreading form with a height and spread of around 3-4m in a 2 year period. It makes a striking feature tree with its distinctive changing pallet of foliage colours. In spring, the new leaves are tinted a glorious salmon-pink shade. They slowly mature to bronzed yellow and then deepen into green with a yellow marbling effect in the summer.
Spring also sees the blossoming of lovely small yellow-green flowers which blend beautifully against the leaves. Late summer delights again when the tree offers clusters of winged, red fruits.
Your Shrimp-Leaved Sycamore is a true all-year round specimen tree of interest. It does well in most soil types. It is fully hardy and can be panted in full sun or partial shade. Try to avoid sites that are exposed to strong winds which tend to strip the delicate foliage. The tree grows slowly and requires minimal if no maintenance.
Acer 'Brilliantissimum' holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit and is ideal to uplift a smaller space. Create your dream garden hide-way and plant this versatile tree next to a wooden garden bench and gurgling water feature where you can relax and contemplate the changing colours of the leaves as the seasons pass.
